Fishing in Scotland

This week, I visited Biggar in Scotland for a short break away from my hectic working life in the city. I stayed at Shieldhill Castle, a picturesque location situated in the beautiful Clyde Valley.

The agenda for the break way to simply relax, relax, relax... and go fishing!

On Tuesday, I visited Tinto Fishery. For anyone who knows me, fishing is more of my sister Lucy's thing. I'm more interested then Fahri then Fishing! Anyway, we arrived at Tinto and was greeted by John who took us to Loch Lyoch which was stocked full of brown and rainbow trout.

yep, so this is my sister, dad and I fishing for sticklebacks when I was about 5...

I hadn't fished since I was about 8 years old, so I had no idea what I was doing, really! However, after a few casting lessons I was well equipped to fish the loch and the competition was on to see who could bring in the biggest fish of the day!

Sadly, we didn't catch anything but I managed to survive 4 hours of standing in the freezing cold hoping to catch something!

Here are some images from the day!

I'll be attending the Fishing for Heroes fishing event at Chatton Fishery, Northumberland on 27th April.
