Private White V.C - British fashion

Private White V.C is a british brand based in Manchester. Inspired by family heritage and born out of devotion to manufacturing in Britain. Private White V.C is committed to producing quality everyday menswear using the finest materials and craftmanship.

Former Dunhill menswear designers, Nick Ashley is influenced from Private Whites's own wardrobe yet designs with a contemporary twist allowing styles to be timeless yet functional.

It's been almost a year since I visited the factory of Private White V.C in Manchester. After a little trouble finding the factory, unknown to me it is commonly known as Coopers & Stollbrand. I was led around a factory full of history and heritage. Most of the materials used to make the garments are sourced nearby in Yorkshire and Lancashire, just a few miles from the factory.

What was great about visiting the factory is seeing product being manufactured with such history behind it.

Here are some of the images from my visit.

Shooting in Alnwick with EJ Churchill

Before Christmas, I was invited to follow a shoot in Alnwick with EJ Churchill. I was the photographer of the day quietly snapping away as the guns shot in the beautiful Northumberland Estate.

A photographers worst nightmare is bad weather - dull and wet = poor shooting. However frosty ground and low winter sun = good day shooting! Luckily, the latter was the case. Frosty fields and low winter sun provided a great contrast against the green tones of tweed and flashes of brightly coloured shooting socks.

Being a bit of a novice to the whole shooting experience and clothing element - A girl has to look good, I did study fashion after all! I wore, The Joules FieldCoat in Toad Green bought from a local outdoor retailers, Jobson of Alnwick. Worn with my Brasher socks and Hunter wellington boots.

I began the day enjoying breakfast with the men at a local boutique hotel in Alnwick and being updated on the previous evenings escapades. After being briefed by Garry on the rules and structure of the day, we began our day on the first drive close to Alnwick Castle.

EJ Churchill Sporting Agency is ran by Rob and Jane Fenwick. I was lucky enough to meet Rob who was clearly passionate about the sport and provided a great days shooting and coaching.

After two drives, we stopped for Elevenses. A tradition amongst a shooting party consisting of a concoction of Sloe Gin and Champagne. A winter warmer and much needed on a day where the temperature didn't get above freezing. Another successful drive followed by lunch at Alnwick Castle set us up for an afternoon of shooting.

I followed the shooting party around all day and here are some photos.

New Years Day Percy Hunt meet at Alnwick Castle

*Insert hungover related status here* Oh wait....

Last night I choose to stay in and see the New Year in with my family. It made the prospect of getting up early, charging my batteries and cleaning my lenses a piece of cake.
I choose to attend the Percy Hunt meet at Alnwick Castle. The medieval castle and home to the Percy family, more commonly known as the Duchy of Northumberland, Alnwick Castle provided a fantastic back drop to a great day.

Here are some of my photographs from the meet.
